Voyage in Mongolia

Voyage in Mongolia

What would you say to a voyage in Mongolia?

An idea of being a tourist in Mongolia

Lying down in the silver-green absinthe-scented steppe, I am contemplating the deep blue sky. A few clouds, white as sheep, emerge here and there. The Blue Mountains frame the horizon. To their right, I can see lakes: one mustn't be taken in: it is nothing but a mirage.
You can even see the images of the camels. that pass on the steppe reflected in it. What is a mirage exactly? The wind gleaming in the sun? Or is it the hot air rising? Or maybe the soul of a lake which dried-out seventy million years ago and is still haunting Mongolia. In an almost dream-like state, with thoughts going through my head with no real direction, I hear the noise of ruminants in the steppe. Gazelles? A herd of gazelles?

The meal prepared by our chef smells devilishly good. I am so hungry again now.

How about . . .?

How about forgetting about the big city for a while? How about experiencing the virgin countryside of a far-distant country using all your senses? How about contemplating the infinite expanse of the country from the eternally snow-covered summits of the Blue Mountains silhouetted against the skyline . How about going for a hike around the shores of the crystalline lake of Khövsgöl and appreciate this magnificent region. You could also visit the depression of the steppes in the east of Mongolia and see the impressive pits caused by land-slides. You could equally observe the herds which can consist of thousands of gazelle , and at night you can cup your ear to listen for the howling of the wolves. You could admire the star-lit sky, the satellites and shooting stars, be the guest of nomad families who will greet you like long-lost friends and will entertain in every way they can. And what would you say to living like a nomad for a day or even to walk in the tracks of the Mongols and to unearth their secret history through their historic sites. If the above sounds tempting, you have come to the right place! Book a flight to Mongolia ; we will look after the rest. There is a Mongolian proverb that states "Seen once with one's own eyes is worth a thousand times from the mouths of others" or as another proverb states, "Better a fool who voyages than a wise man who stays at home"

first night at a "million star" hotel

It is splendid! Far from the town you breathe in a big lungful of fresh air. The stars shine brightly and the satellites sparkle. Numerous shooting stars criss-cross the sky. And this calm! The air is charged with the smells of plants from the steppe. Every now and then, the whinnying of horses can be heard.

and you can experience much more still during a trip to Mongolia .

Numerous calm nights followed by a night of storms maybe.sand storms.magnificent sunrises and sunsets.

what to see at Oulan-Bator?

Ulanbator

It's the coldest capital in the world, as cold as minus 40°C in winter
•  The modern world rubs shoulders with nomad life
•  It is the capital that has been moved around most in its history
•  It has a population of 840 000 inhabitants, a third of the total population of Mongolia
•  It is the site of numerous curiosities: the Natural History Museum with giant skeletons and dinosaur nests, a bone of the smallest mammal which weighs only 4g. The city is host to the palace of the 8 th Bogdo Gegen (political and religious leader). In this museum palace, you can admire, among other things, the particularly impressive sculptures of the first supreme lama: Zanabazar, also a famous sculptor. You can also contemplate the superb banners (Thangkhas), made of silk and silk thread, painted and printed using natural colours.
•  There is an art museum with numerous works of art by local artists.
